This cage is made specifically for the latest CBR500R, model years 2025-2026. It bolts to the factory mounting points on the frame and follows the lines of the sport bike fairings, so you get full engine protection without cutting or drilling a single panel.
Many CBR500R riders are learning - on an A2 licence, in gymkhana or in their first stunt sessions - and a drop at walking pace is part of that. The cage takes the fall instead of the engine, engine cases and frame, so a parking tip-over or a slide on a training day does not end with a big repair bill. It is just as useful on a daily commute through town.
The cage uses the factory frame mounting points and does not require any modification of the stock side fairings. Watch the installation videos before you start: installation video 1 and installation video 2.
This version fits only the CBR 500R built in 2025-2026. For 2016-2024 bikes choose the CBR500R crash cage 2016-2026 (on 2024-2026 bikes that version needs the fairing cut). More parts: Honda CBR500R stunt parts.
Will I have to trim my bodywork?
In most cases no - the cage goes around the stock plastics. Always compare your bike with the photos on this page, because a facelift year can share the frame and still have different panels, and then a bit of trimming is needed.
What about the exhaust?
The cage is designed around the standard exhaust visible in the photos. If you run aftermarket headers, expect a clash - our cages are built on bikes with factory headers.
Two up?
No problem, the cage leaves the passenger seat and pegs usable.
Warranty?
Two years. Parts that went through a crash are not covered - that is what the cage is there for.
How much does it add to the bike?
Roughly 5 kg for a small cage and 8 kg for a big one, all made of reinforced seamless tube.
What happens when the pads wear out?
You just swap them. The sliders are a wear part and one type fits every cage we make.
