Honda CBR500R crash cage (2016-2026)
The CBR500R is an easy bike to learn stunts and gymkhana on, but its full fairings and engine covers are not cheap to replace. This CBR500R crash cage is the engine protection that takes the hit first, so a drop in training or a tip-over in the car park does not turn into a repair bill.
Fitment and fairings
The cage fits the Honda CBR 500R from 2016 to 2026. What changes between years is the fairing:
- 2023 - the cage goes on without cutting the fairings.
- 2024-2026 - the fairing has to be cut so it fits around the cage.
For the 2025-2026 bike there is also a separate design: CBR500R crash cage 2025-2026 Street/Stunt/Gymkhana/Track.
Crash cage or crash bars?
Riders look for CBR500R crash bars, stunt cage or engine protection - this is the full cage version, with a frame on both sides and crash pads at the points that touch the ground first. It is solid, yet light enough not to spoil how the bike rides.
What you get
- crash cage (both sides),
- crash pads,
- bolts, nuts and spacers for installation.
Complete the setup
For the rear of the bike add the CBR500R rear sets and subcage, and for a stunt handbrake the extra caliper bracket. All parts for this bike: Honda CBR500R stunt parts.

Before you order
Will I have to trim my bodywork?
In most cases no - the cage goes around the stock plastics. Always compare your bike with the photos on this page, because a facelift year can share the frame and still have different panels, and then a bit of trimming is needed.
What about the exhaust?
The cage is designed around the standard exhaust visible in the photos. If you run aftermarket headers, expect a clash - our cages are built on bikes with factory headers.
Two up?
No problem, the cage leaves the passenger seat and pegs usable.
Warranty?
Two years. Parts that went through a crash are not covered - that is what the cage is there for.
How much does it add to the bike?
Roughly 5 kg for a small cage and 8 kg for a big one, all made of reinforced seamless tube.
What happens when the pads wear out?
You just swap them. The sliders are a wear part and one type fits every cage we make.
