ZX6R crash cage for stunt riding (2003-2026)
The ZX-6R 636 has been a stunt favourite for more than twenty years, and every generation ends up on its side sooner or later. This ZX6R crash cage is designed to protect your bike in case of a drop: it puts steel and replaceable sliders between the tarmac and your engine, frame and fairings, so a dropped wheelie or a slide costs you a pad instead of a crankcase cover. It fits every Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R from 2003 onwards.
Fitment: one cage page, every ZX6R generation
Choose your model year in the options above and you get the cage made for that frame:
- 2003-2004 and 2005-2006 - Stunt versions for the early 636.
- 2007-2008 - Stunt/Drift cage for the 2007-2008 ZX-6R frame.
- 2009-2026 - Stunt/Drift cage for the long-running later models.
- 2024-2026 Stunt/Gymkhana - a separate gymkhana and stunt design for the newest bike that mounts without drilling the fairings.
With the Stunt/Drift cages the fairings can stay on the bike, but they need to be modified to fit around the cage. If you want to keep the bodywork untouched on a 2024-2026 bike, go for the Stunt/Gymkhana version.
ZX6R stunt cage or crash bars?
Short crash bars only cover one spot on each side. A full stunt cage wraps around the engine and ties both sides together with a cage reinforcement connector, so it keeps the bike off the ground in circles, stoppies and wheelie drops, not just in a simple tip-over. That means stress-free practice sessions instead of worrying about every fall.

Protect the back of the bike

Before you order
Will I have to trim my bodywork?
In most cases no - the cage goes around the stock plastics. Always compare your bike with the photos on this page, because a facelift year can share the frame and still have different panels, and then a bit of trimming is needed.
What about the exhaust?
The cage is designed around the standard exhaust visible in the photos. If you run aftermarket headers, expect a clash - our cages are built on bikes with factory headers.
Two up?
No problem, the cage leaves the passenger seat and pegs usable.
Warranty?
Two years. Parts that went through a crash are not covered - that is what the cage is there for.
How much does it add to the bike?
Roughly 5 kg for a small cage and 8 kg for a big one, all made of reinforced seamless tube.
What happens when the pads wear out?
You just swap them. The sliders are a wear part and one type fits every cage we make.
